Sunday Beer Review

St. Bernardus Abt 12 - 10% Alcohol - Nice, this is subtle and hits you like a jackhammer!

Horn Dog Barleywine Style Ale - From Flying Dog Ales. Not impressed, not as good as Brooklyn Brewery's Monster Ale. Would like to hear Adam's opinion on his favorite Barleywine.

V12 - From Victory Beer Not impressed 12% Alcohol - A who cares type of beer. I think I may have reviewed this before. Who knows if I was consistent.

Burton Baton - From Dogfish Finally on to the Pro's! Oak aged IPA 10% Alcohol.

Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter - Mellow, Chocolately!

Here's a quick top 10 list of barley wines(in no particular order-and subject to change, of course):Olde School from Dogfish head (could be my favorite), Thomas Hardy's Ale(ok,technically, it's an old ale), Old Crustacean from Rogue, Victory's Old Horizontal, Mendocino's Talon True Style (Mendocino contract brews in Saratoga), Druid Fluid from Middle Ages in Syracuse(I've an amusing anecdote from a trip to their brewery), Thomas Hooker's Old Marley (used to love it, have n't tried any since Paul Davis left as Head Brewer. They also contract brew in Saratoga, btw.), Full Sail's Old Boardhead, Anchor Brewing's Old Foghorn (Anchor was started by appliance heir Fritz Maytag), and finally Bigfoot (it's a bit hoppy for the style, and some vintages are better than others).O.K., there's 10.It was kind of tough to list these, as it's very hot right now.Much too hot for such big beers.I need to go grab a wit or hefeweizen.
