Arlen Specter
So he's a Democrat...big surprise. My thought on the matter now is how powerful Lieberman has become. Franken will win it in Minnesota and will be a party hack. Lieberman may be all that stands between a strong military and a total gutting. By the way to Specter. What exactly in the way of "centrism" does he find in the Obama-Reid-Pelosi triangle?

Weekend Beer Review 2
Otherwise known as the stupidity continues. Started booking this year's vacation in the Pac-Northwest this year. 8 days 3 ballparks, 1 brewery. Am hoping to run over Bigfoot along the way.
1) Hair of the Dog - Fred - Or maybe Adam's cousin. 10% ABV - Pair this with Adam and you would have one hell of a Black & Tan. This should be a Whiskey.
2) New England Brewery - Sea Hag IPA - Kind of like a Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Very drinkable IPA. The can says the Sea Hag continues to haunt New Haven. Funny, I thought she was Secretary of State.-
3) Uinta Brewing - Fifteenth Anniversary Barleywine - Too smooth. God love the Mormons. Is that politically correct? Probably not.

Weekend Beer Review!
Have decided to do this over two days. Doing it all on Sunday makes Monday kind of tough. Although I have to say that starting this early on a Saturday afternoon does not have a huge track record of success. Oh well.
1) Guinness - 250 Anniversary Stout - Was never much of a fan of Guinness pre or post beer enlightenment but I like this one. A little more carbonated and (at least I think) hoppier. Good beer but Americans make better stout. Can I say that in the age of Obama?
2) Stone - Levitation Ale - Good session beer. On the bottle it says this was a gold medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival. (Can we use Great and American together in the age of Obama and his ilk?) Similar to a Sierra Nevada ESB.
3) Sticking with the boys at Stone - Imperial Russian Stout - (I know I can say Imperial & Russian in the same sentence in the age of Obama!) - 10.5% ABV - Big Beer. This is a stout....nuff said!
Off topic rant. Cablevision just sent me a letter saying they were going to remove several of my channels unless I got one of their Cable Boxes. Among the channels were BET & MSNBC. Not a good marketing ploy.
4) Carlow Brewing - O'Hara's Irish Stout - Kind of like the Guinness 250. So when the Guinness 250 goes, who cares?

Weekend Beer Review
I've decided that after yesterday's NY Stinkees debacle that I am taking everything out on my liver.
1) Troegs Brewing - Troegenator - Doublebock Beer - 8.2% ABV mild taste for the ABV. Caramel taste, very good. Gotta like the name. This is different than other bocks that I have had.
2) Southern tier - Iniquity Black Ale - A Black IPA - 9.0% ABV Interesting...Kind of like a black....oh well not going there.
3) Stone Brewing Co - Triple 8.7% - Belgian Style Triple (their spelling) I don't think so. Not good.
4) Ballast Point Brewing - Sea Monster - Imperial Stout - 10% ABV - Ahh some taste. Very much of a coffee like flavor. This bottle may be a keeper just for the label.
