Spring Vacation
Thank god it's over tomorrow. Had to endure a train ride home with three families (5+ Adults, 10 kids) after a long day of work in the section of the car I was in. Stay the f**k home or take an off peak train. These kids deserve Obama's America.

Good News
Apparently Obama grew a sack and authorized this rescue mission. Good for him and more importantly good for the US. 3 of these savages were killed and the 4th who was captured should be made an example of.

Easter Beer Review
It's raining & it doesn't look like I will have a chance to walk today. What to do....start drinking! I know I have been on a unitary topic lately but it's better than pondering how inept Obama looks to the world since he won't blow a bunch of savages out of the water.
1)Two Brothers Brewing - Cane & Ebel - "A hopped up Red Rye Ale" - 7.0% ABV - Brewed with Rye & Thai Palm Sugar. Certainly not low carb. Very smooth, low carbonation. A fitting start to what promises to be an early afternoon retirement!
2) Blue Point Brewing Two offerings here - Summer Ale - Mild Golden Ale. I think this might have been left over from last summer as I am following up with their Spring Fling. They don't even have this listed as an offering on their website. This is very good & crisp. Had this on tap at the Broome Street Bar. Much better than the Summer Ale, although I am going to reserve some judgement on the Summer Ale until I get a fresher batch.
3)Harpoon - Leviathan Quad - Very good belgian style ale highly recommended. I think this is the best of their Leviathan Series. Too bad they are from Boston. I think I gave a bottle to MC hopefully he enjoys it!
4) Sierra Nevada - Torpedo Extra IPA - 7.2% Very good IPA. Good mid level beer, not as good as the Dogfish offerings but a good stay at home drinkable IPA.

Thursday Pub Crawl
Being that I have Good Friday off I decided to embark on a bit of a pubcrawl. Some new beers were discovered.
Puffy's Tavern - Actually walked by this yesterday morning and saw a sign that they serve Kelso which is a Brooklyn beer that I had never heard of. I had a Kelso Pilsner on tap which was very good. If you click to the site check out the t-shirt in the store section. That might be a must have. Also, most importantly, a new axiom was provided to guide future pub crawls. I was talking to MC on my way to Puffy's, and admitted that I was going out of my was for where I had originally planned to travel. MC said going out of the way to try a new beer offsets a logically planned travel in these situations. Sounds good to me.
Tribeca Tavern had a Lionshead Pilsner which was flat.
Broome Street Bar - Good place, bought a pint glass as I liked the design and you can't have too many pint glasses. Not sure why this did not make the Gotham Imbiber. I definitely belongs (at least) in the worth a look section. Anyway had a Goose Island Summertime which is described as a Kolsch style beer. I do like Goose Island's beers and this one didn't dissapoint.
Spring Lounge - Been here a number of times. Good college bar. The sites are always appreciated. Had A Flying Dog Ale in Heat Wheat. Haven't bought this yet should probably do so soon.
Stanton Public House - Had a Cask Conditioned Oskar Blues Old Chub. Good and stong 8%ABV Scotch Ale.
Went over to Whole Foods and picked up a new treat for the weekend. Even was able to navigate the Subway back to GCT!

Weekend Beer Review!
Can I be considered a heretic for having a Rochefort 10 in a Westvleteren Chalice? Probabaly, but I didn't go to Palm Sunday Mass either.
1) Butter Nuts Beer & Ale - Porkslap Pale Ale - Disturbing name (Brewery & Brand) Had this in the East Village on Friday. Good beer though.
2) Bluegrass Brewing Company - Jefferson's Reserve - Bourbon Barrel Stout - Good Stout although not as good as Goose Island!
3) Rock Art Brewery - Ridge Runner Barleywine - This bills itself as a mild barleywine on the label. It is very tasty and drinkable. Well done.
4) Goose Island - Honkers Ale - Alright I forgive Illinois for Obama because of this brewery. Great English Style Bitter!
