The Ear Inn
I have been walking by the Ear Inn several times a week for the last year and a half. Finally went in a few weeks ago. They have a house beer called Ear Inn Ale (which is Brooklyn Lager). This place though has a fascinating history. I especially like the blurb below.
Today, The Ear Inn is a bar and restaurant that features historic memorabilia and remains largely unchanged from its past appearance, even as urban renewal has transformed the area around it. Indeed, as part of the permitting process, real-estate developers have paid for thousands of dollars in repairs and improvements to the building, including a backyard fire escape.
It has been described by The New York Times as "a dump with dignity."
Reportedly, ghosts have been sighted in the property, including a spirit named "Mickey," a sailor waiting in eternity for his ship to come in.
This would be a good place to launch a pub crawl.

National Buzzard Day!
Is March 16th (I guess). To honor the day the Spring Street Lounge (aka Shark Bar) is having A National Buzzard Day IPA event!. The list of brewers looks real good. Unfortunately though on the 16th I will be performing my civic duty and will be unable to attend.
I can picture MC at this with his assortment of unique cutlery digging in to a buzzard drumstick!

Couple of NYC Pictures
Thought of MC when I saw the sign in red as that would be a saying he would appreciate. Kind of thought he might be going into the slogan writing field. Belgian Mondays work as well.
