From Tim's friend Jay who is an annual Bluefish August Jimmy Drunkfest regular. I just came up with the title.
The Beer's Prayer
Our lager,Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk,(I will be drunk),
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and The lager.
Forever and ever,
Barmen

In Matt's absence, I will keeep up some of the anti PC he is known for. From the Religion of Perpetual Outrage, I mean Religion of Seething, I mean the Religion of keeping things in Perspective, oh yeah the Relgion of Peace...got it now. This
If these people were Christian, the Democrats and media would be going at them Full Throttle.

Beer Recommendation
Those of you who know me know that I am pretty generic in my beer tastes. Give me a Schaeffer or PBR and I am pretty happy. The other day returning from Norm's house I stopped at this liquor store on Rte 110. I needed to get a bottle of Merlot & I saw this beer called Sara, it is imported from Belgium and certified organic by the fruitcakes from California. It looked very dark when I poured it, but I was very surprised by the light clean taste. It says it is a buckwheat ale, (6%). There was a website on the label that looks interesting.

When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, also include one for the following address:

Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
If you approve of the idea, please pass it on.

Your tax dollars at work.
The Connecticut Post reports that state employees are not tracking their vacation time, sick time etc. Who knows how much this cost taxpayers in fraudulent compensation. This is such a basic component of internal control. Our elected representatives who were all very indignant over the Enron & World-Com scandals should look at their own house.

Diversity at U of Delaware
Apparently there was some kind of Diversity Indoctrination going on over at Dartmouth that is being widely scoffed at in some Blogs. The Corner provides some of the questions. A drink comes to the local individual who provides the best "non-vulgar/non-getting me to jail" response.
Good luck.
Veterans day is November 11th. That servicemen and servicewomen died to pave the way for a generation to come up with this dreck is unconscionable

Paul W. Tibbets, 1915-2007
Matt links to this story on the passing of General Tibbets. Matt & I went up to see the General speak several years ago and purchased pictures and books that the General signed. We knew not to ask him to sign a baseball. I'll leave that story to Matt.
The NY Post in its editorial page today states the following:
"The six decades since have brought about much moralistic hand wringing and academic revisionism all designed to rewrite history and declare America guilty of a horrendous war crime"
Tibbets response in a 1995 PBS Documentary (also from the NY Post):
"I wanted to do everything I could to subdue Japan. I wanted to kill the bastards. It would have been morally wrong if we'd had that weapon and not used it and let a million people die"
"I didn't bomb Pearl Harbor - I didn't start the war. But I was going to finish it."
Rest in Peace.

Billy
Heard the bad news from both Adam & Matt. Hopefully Billy is somewhere trying to land a Great White. Godspeed.
Billy was not a big sports fan as I am although I always remember him willing to listen to me babble on about sports. He used to tell stories about his Uncle (who sounded like he was made but who cares) taking him to see the Mets at Shea. His Uncle would have a procedure where he would pick up pastry, go to OTB while bringing Billy along in the process. Sounds like a good day to me. I remember the happiness in Billy's voice when he recalled this. I will probably add on to this, but I am drunk now and will leave until tomorrow.
